Meet the Staff

Flag Man
Jim L. Gates, owner of Triple R Rodeo is the Senior Vice President of the Jourdanton State Bank and Pearsall Branch Manager. A 1983 graduate of Texas A & M University is a 3rd generation rancher. Born in the saddle he has been involved in the sport of rodeo all of his life. While running the bank in Pearsall and competing in amateur rodeos and team ropings he still finds time to run his cow/calf operation and produce ranch rodeos. The 1st ranch rodeo produced was in 1986 for the Cotulla Wild Hog Cookoff and Ranch Rodeo, there was standing room only by the end of the day.

Rodeo Secretary
Shanna Gates, co-owner of Triple R Rodeo is Justice of the Peace Pct. #1 for Frio County. She has been involved in the sport of rodeo all of her life. As a competitor and instructor, she knows her way around the arena.

Arena Director
Christopher Toalson is a farmer / rancher from Moore, Texas. He has been around the rodeo arena since college in San Marcos when he helped produce calf ropings. He is a hand in and out of the arena when it comes to getting the job done.

Time Keeper
Jennifer Toalson is a bookkeeper / stay at home mom that helps her husband around the farm. She keeps an eye on the flag and is excited to cheer for each of the teams.

Rodeo Announcer
Mathew Myers is a professional rodeo announcer and is soon to be our very own lawyer. He has been announcing rodeos and bull ridings for a number of years. He is a very energetic person that brings the rodeo together.

Stock Contractor
Charlie Helen, rancher, stock contractor, truck driver and cowboy poet has been around cattle and rodeo all of his life. He is very conscientious of his stock and brings good help to move them thru the pens.

Pickup Man
Bill Coble has been riding the Rio Grande River as a USDA Tick Inspector so long that they have trails named after him around Laredo. Bill is a long time team roper and has always been involved in rodeo. He takes his job in the arena seriously, always caring for the cowboys and the stock.
